Georgia Ambarian and Eric Luna of Fred Astaire Dance Studios
have been selected to represent the
United States in the new reality TV show,
Superstars of Dance.
The international dance competition is produced by Nigel Lythgoe
and Simon Fuller, the masterminds behind
American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.
Lord of the Dance king, Michael Flatley
has been selected to host show.

Georgia Ambarian and Eric Luna dance at Fred Astaire
Dance Studio in Cinco Bayou and hold three world
and three U.S. cabaret championship titles.
They also were the featured dancers with pop singer
James Blount on an episode of
Dancing with the Stars last season.

“It’s nice that our hard work was noticed,” Eric Luna said.
“Nigel Lythgoe himself called us to ask us if we’d participate.”

Georgia Ambarian and Eric Luna are expert ballroom
dancers specializing in cabaret dancing,
a theatrical style that involves aerial movements and lifts.
They’ll be competing against ballet dancers
and even acrobats, depending on the contestants dance style the
participating eight countries choose to send.

“We’re just going to go and perform the
best way we can,” Georgia Ambarian said.
“You can’t think of it as a competition.
You have to think of it as your personal best.”

Superstars of Dance will premiere on January 4, 2009 at 8:00 PM ET on NBC.

Dancing with the stars Tampa Bay

What is “Dancing with the Stars Tampa Bay”?
it’s
Tampa Bay’s Celebrity Star Dancers
partnering with Fred Astaire Dance Studios
and
Heartbeat International
in a
Ballroom Dance Competition
with
Interactive audience voting!!!!

Dancing with the Stars Tampa Bay is patterned
after the amazingly successful
ABC television program, which is about
to begin its seventh season this fall.
This elegant event is setting the stage for
not only an evening of fantastic dancing,
but as well, a true coming together
of the who's who in Tampa Bay.
Our exclusive partnership with Fred Astaire
Dance Studios Tampa Bay allows our
Celebrity Star Dancers the opportunity to be
paired with a professional ballroom dance
instructor who will make certain that they dazzle the crowd!
The Star Dancers  are local
community celebrities, personalities and leaders  who
will capture the crowd with grace, glitz and glamour.

Each of the ten dance teams, the Celebrity and their professional
partner from the 3 Fred Astaire Dance studios
in Pinellas county, will perform one ballroom dance of their choice.
Performances will be judged by National and International Ballroom
Competition Adjudicators combined with the audience votes.
At this year’s event  American Rhythm Champions,
Tony Dovolani and Elena Grinenko, both of whom are
banner participants in the  hit ABC series Dancing With
The Stars will perform some dazzling routines.
The steps our Celebrity Star Dancers take on the dance
floor are representative of the many steps that will
be taken by Heartbeat International in improving
the quality of life for those in need, ultimately
making both our local and global community a better place to live.

We at Heartbeat International and all of those that we serve,
thank you in advance for supporting the 2008
Inaugural Presentation of Dancing with the Stars
Tampa Bay November 6th at the beautiful
Renaissance Vinoy Resort located in downtown St. Petersburg!
We at Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Palm Harbor would like to wish
the best of luck to our two Tampa Bay Celebrities
competing in this year’s event Mr. J Paul Pepin of Pepin Distributing
and Ms Kathryn Garcia of Get Wet
Swim School partnered with two of our finest instructors
Ms. Kelsey Koehler & Mr. Martin Mata.
Of course we only wish the best to all the
other Celebrities and their professional
partners at the 2 St.Petersburg Fred Astaire Dance Studios.

Watch This Amazing Video Clip!

Heather Mill's appearance on Dancing With The Stars has generated a lot of discussion about
dancing with disabilities. In this uplifting video clip, you can watch a dancer give it his all - with only one leg.

Watch Tony Dovolani and Elena Grinenko Work The Rumba!

Tony Dovolani and Elena Grinenko's sensual rumba showcase performance at the Ohio Star Ball
2006 is now on YouTube. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl4-hHio2nE
(around the 4:18 mark). Also on this clip is an electrifying performance by
Fred Astaire dance champions Jackie Josephs and Jesse Desoto (around 2:30). Enjoy!

As many of you know, the partnership between Fred Astaire
Dance Studios and Variety
"The Children's Charity" has continued to grow.
At this years national competition in Florida, Variety of
Orlando was able to share its mobility story about
helping children at a local elementary school
thanks to donations made by Fred Astaire owners,
teachers and students at last years Mix and Match competition.

Variety of Orlando used the money donated by Fred Astaire
Dance Studios to purchase the automatic
door opener for Winter Springs Elementary.
Abigail, Emily, their grandparents, sisters and mother
came to this years competition and presented Jack Rothweiler
with a thank you card from all the children at the school.

After the presentation, an anonymous dancer generously donated
$10,000 to Variety of Orlando to help more children in need!

Variety of Orlando and Variety of the U.S. are incredibly
grateful to Jack Rothweiler, Pahjmon Lipsey and
all the students and dancers from Fred Astaire
Dance Studios who helped make this wish a reality
for Emily and Abigail. The generosity of everyone associated with
Fred Astaire Dance Studios humbles and overwhelms us.
 Thank you!
